Register now because if we have to limit the number of participants, the allocation will take place after receipt of the registrations. Our Corona security guarantee: If the event is cancelled or runners from foreign countries are not allowed to start, the entry fee will be fully refunded or the starting place transferred to 2022. 

Half of the registered participants transferred their starting position to 2021, the other half applied for a refund. The entry fee and the amount for any additional services booked were reimbursed on 28.7.2020 to the account or credit card used for the payment. The 2021 starters will receive a new participant confirmation in autumn.

We very much regret the decision. However, the health and protection of all active people on and along the running route comes first. Our partner mika:timing  will e-mail all registered participants in the next few weeks. We support all measures that slow down the course of infection. We are confident that sporting events can take place in the second half of the year as planned. 

Should we nevertheless have to cancel the 4th Koblenz Sparkasse Marathon in summer, we will refund the entry fee. 

We are offering this service for the first time this year, especially for sporty, ambitious runners. Own beverages can be handed in until 8.30am on race day. For three stations in the marathon (km 11, 22 and 33) and one station in the half marathon (km 11). This service is free of charge! One of three new offers to improve performance in Koblenz.

The club BBC Koblenz-Hochheim traditionally organizes the first "big" preparation run for the spring marathons. This year the running competition will take place on Saturday, 269. February. The 10 km run and the half marathon start together at 2:30pm The route goes along the rivers Rhine and Lahn to the respective turning point. 

Today we have activated the registration for the 4th Koblenz Sparkasse Marathon on 13. September. Until New Year's Eve the entry fee is reduced. Sign up now! Out very scenic track is measured and approved according to international and German rules.

We plan next year for the second Sunday in September. Because on the first weekend a music festival will take place at the "Deutsche Eck" monument. We are very pleased that the Minister of the Interior and Sport  is taking over this position because it honors our commitment to sport and the World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. At "Live from 6" on TV Mittelrhein Katrin Wolf talked with press spokesman Rolf Geifes and the super active running ambassador Olli Michaelis (of Meddy's running and walking club, the largest participant and helper club!) about the running event. Final press conference with the patron, Mayor David Langer, four weeks before the third Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon: 2300 participants from 29 nations are currently at the start. But volunteers will pack about 3000 starter bags. Because the signs speak for a strong registration final spurt.

Athletes from 27 nations are already looking forward to the third edition of our City Marathon. Among them is Aarari Larsen from Norway, who deliberately chose the run in the heart of Germany. "I was looking for a marathon abroad in early September, considered 9 alternatives but Koblenz seemed like the best choice", he wrote.

There are four really spectacular camping sites in and around Koblenz. KNAUERS Campingpark Koblenz is located opposide the "Deutsche Eck" and the Ehrenbreitstein fortress. For hire also wooden camping barrels (45 Euro/2 persons).

A group of ten around the native Croatian Lilli Kurtovic (operator of the Hotel National near the Koblenz train station) presented the Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon at the Split Half Marathon at the end of February. In sunny weather, freezing temperatures and strong gusts of wind, however, the runners had to work hard. Nevertheless, a recommendable run!

Today, there are exactly 200 days until the 3rd Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon. If you are planning something big, you should start soon... Our member Steffen Best, himself an active runner and physiotherapist, has prepared 6-month plans for "gentle" preparation for the marathon and half marathon. Training starts in the week March 11-17.

The Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon has been approved by the German Athletics Federation (DLV) as an "international running event". Thus, marathon, half marathon and 10 km are "best-list eligible". This also means that the results can be given for qualification in other competitions worldwide!

In the first registration phase for the 3rd Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon on Sunday, 8th of September, 632 runners registered. That's 60 percent more then the year before.

The number of registrations compared to the previous year: marathon 100 (67), half marathon 484 (286), team marathon 4 (12) and 10 km 44 (37).

2500 participants attended the second edition of the Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon today. And they were all excited about the new track. "Cologne can not do any better," said Ingolf Winkler from Neuss. "A great and fast route". Richard Schumacher won the marathon in 02:35:51 h for the men and Lisa Mehl for the women in 03:08:48 h.

Members of the sports clubs BBC Hochheim and Ski Club Horchheim sort since Tuesday the starting documents and pack the starter bags for the 2500+ participants of the Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon. All in all, the next few days 300 helpers from 15 sports clubs are in action. We all say THANK YOU!

Everyone is looking forward to the second Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon on 2nd September - host club, mayor and patron David Langner, sponsors and partners. Around 2,000 runners (without student competitions) are currently registered. And every hour more!

To support ambitioned runners and to prevent a possible health risk, we offer a free online health check. This questionnaire was i.a. prepared by the German Sport University Cologne. The check lasts two minutes, each participant receives an evaluation at the end.

We flew with a drone over the area - the CGM Arena, where the marathon fair takes place on Friday and Saturday and on the day of the event the participant service (race number issue, bag storage, shower, changing room, massage) and the stadium, where start and finish takes place. Koblenz is the home of sparkling wine maker Deinhard. It is located on the marathon route, next to the theater. In the supporting program you can take part with your company in a guided cellar tour. A must-do when visiting Koblenz. In addition, Deinhard sponsors the shuttle buses and sparkling wines for the best runners/walkers. We are so glad!

Olli Michaelis of Meddy's Running and Walking Club Koblenz took part at the "Bieler Running Days" - the extreme event in Switzerland. He completed the 100 km distance in 10 hours and 55 minutes. Congratulations! Of course, Olli made advertising for Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon. Don't forget: The current registration phase expires at of the month! 

Eight runners around our press spokesman Rolf Geifes took part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival in Scotland end of May. Now on Friday, our race director Henryk Bernard and press spokesman Rolf Geifes are guests in the show "Live ab 6" at channel TV Mittelrhein. Olli Michaelis of Meddy's Running and Walking Club Koblenz runs marathon throughout Europe, advertising the race in his hometown. In March, he started in Barcelona, today in Copenhagen. And in between he took part in surveral German competitions, for example in Freiburg, Dusseldorf and Mendig. Good job! And thanks for your support! 

The course of the Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon 2018 is now approved by the German Athletics Federation (DLV) according to international competition rules. The certificate issued until 2023. Our press spokesman Rolf Geifes (left) took 3rd place in the half marathon in the Lohner's Vulkan Marathon (M50). The race was actually only intended as preparation for the Mainz Marathon next Sunday, where the team from the Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon takes part. The chairman of the host club Klaus Jahnz cordially congratulated when handing over the certificate.

New Lord Mayor, new patron: Prof. Dr. Joachim Hoffmann-Göttig (left) today handed over his office to David Langner. We thank the old LM very much for his commitment to the city and sports. And we wish the new LM success! We are glad, that he also supports the city marathon as a patron! In the premiere year, the enthusiastic runner took part at the photo shooting.

In the neon-green promotion shirt, running ambassadors Gerhard Schug, Jutta Kazmarek, Jörg Busch and Rolf Geifes (from left) joined the participants of the Bonn Marathon last Sunday and campaigned for the city run around Deutsche Eck. In addition, each of the 10,000 starter bags contained an info flyer including a map of the new route. 

Race director Henryk Bernard presented the run at the same time at the „Marathon on the German Wine Route”. His information counter at the marathon fair was well attended. The runners put their heads together around the poster with the new, official measured route. The current registration period ends on June 30th.

A real eye-catcher: the billboard poster for the Koblenz Sparkassen Marathon 2018, which is hanging at several locations since Tuesday (beginning of spring). For a good reason: on Sundays, summer time starts and so for many runners the running season. On March 31, also the current registration phase ends, the prices will rise. Therefore, sign up quick!

A start-to-finish, scenic and flat route on fully closed roads and wide promenades - through the Koblenz city and the historic old town , along the river Moselle, Moselle reservoir and lock: The new marathon route was today officially unveiled.
